Hearing about your husband actually makes me feel better in a twisted way, since I got laid off in January and still nothing. Granted, I’ve been cherry picking my choices, but it’s always been so dang Easy before this! Definitely has to be some ageism going on.

FYI, this wouldn’t help your unique situation re: education and work history, but I’ve had numerous HR people tell me that it was not only okay but actually strongly recommended to cut stuff off the resume so as not to be too old or over qualified.
