In my last piece, I literally asked if anyone could tell me who Stallard and Jones were — in part because I could find so little info at the time. :-(
They, and their deaths, are not invisible. They were real, live, warm and caring human beings who will be missed. If white America chooses to ignore them, it’s not because they’re invisible, it’s because we white people have chosen to close our eyes. It’s a far worse thing for the black community, but also a bad thing for us whites as we continue our own dehumanization.
